The "on" button lights up, but nothing happens when the other buttons are pressed. No preview scan happens on PC, and No sign of life whatsoever on Mac. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi normboread,
On your Windows computer, please try these steps:
1. Click on Start and then All Programs, point to Canon Utilities, MP Navigator EX and then click on MP Navigator EX to open that program.
2. Point to Scan/Import and click Photo/sDocuments (Platen).
3. Place a checkmark next to "Use Scanner Driver".
4. Click Scan.
5. Click on the Advanced Mode tab.
6. Click Preview.
Is the item on the scanner visible on your screen?
