I mostly scan simple black and white documents. Often, I can never predict exactly when, MP Navigator decides to do an uncommanded calibration. This slows me down and always at the wrong time. When I need to calibrate, I know how to do it. Why is MP Navigator calibrating when I don't ask for it?

Hi kcolsen,
The CanoScan LiDE 90 performs the calibration process at specified intervals. There isn't a way to adjust this or turn it off.

Thank you, Patrick.
In my experience, whether I initiate calibration or not has no effect on the interval. Unnecessary calibration exacerbates the nuisance.
If Canon feels it advisable to assure calibration periodically, then one solution would be to include a counter so that the interval timer isn't tripped needlessly. And/or setup could default to interval calibration, but the user would have the option to switch it off.
I like the price/performance of this scanner, but the time-wasting side of the calibration nuisance is a factor as I think about replacing it.
Is there other Canon-compatible scanning software that allows control over calibration by the user exclusively?
