mirror verses mirrorless

I don't own a mirrorless but do own a 90D and a 5D mark iv. I am confused on one issue. Other than size and weight, what are the differences between a mirrorless and shooting with either of my 2 cameras with the mirror locked up? On the outside it would seem that they are comparable using the rear viewing screen and live view shoot.

The new mirrorless cameras have newer generation auto focus algorithms. Depending on the subject ( such as landscape) the difference may be slight. Shooting action scenes would have a much greater difference with respect to subject detection and tracking.
Plus, you wouldn’t be restricted to using the rear LCD.
