i currently own canon 700D. my mum loves camera so she just bought it back in 2017. she doesnt have any interest in photography tho, just for good family photos. meanwhile when i used it i loved it. after which it became a hobby and now in college i am doing it more often (im in a photography club) and im getting better.

but my camera restricts me in certain places. like bad autofocus (which happened overtime) and very bad low light performance mostly worn off auto focus.

i also have a 55-200mm lens included with kit. and i conisder myself fairly rookie.

i really really want a new camera now. (so that i can return my mum her camera). my budget is of around canon r50 with 15-45 default lens, should i consider different company? or just go with canon r50. (and are M series not worth it? if i can find one).

M series is discontinued so I would not recommend you go that route.
The R50 is the mirrorless equivalent of the Canon XXXD version of DSLRs. That is what I would recommend.
