Hi Community!
I last posted in 2022 thinking I would have upgraded my gear by now but for many reasons I waited. I am now ready to upgrade my 10 year old rebel T3i. I am coming from a film photography background. Currently, I have my t3i and 4 lenses:
kit 18-55mm efs, 75-300 ef zoom, a 50mm ef portrait, and a 60mm efs macro
I mostly shoot for personal/leisure/family (street, nature/macro, candid, families) with a few jobs on the side (portraits, small events). As previously posted, I have definitely outgrown the t3i and am not loving the quality.
I plan to upgrade to a mirrorless system and am currently thinking of getting the R6 mark ii for the body. I do not upgrade gear often so I would love a versatile camera body without completely breaking the bank on an R5 mark ii. Any other camera bodies I should be looking at?
My main question would then be about lenses. I cant stand the two kit lenses I currently have but I do use the 18-55 sometimes and used to use the zoom lens often but dont much anymore. I do love my 50 and 60 mm lenses and use them often for personal/fun. Looking for recomendations on lenses for the R system that could replace my current range, or what might be a good start?
Budget is flexible - I have 3k ready to spend on the body and lenses but have more available I am willing to spend for additional lenses.

Greetings,
Since you are moving to full frame, I would let everything go and move immediately to RF.
Your older EF-S lenses will not do your R6 mkII any justice. I know what your thinking. I can use the 50mm. Yes you could if you bought a EF to EOS R adapter for $100, but for another hundred you can grab the RF version if you are enamored with this FL. Less if you went Canon refurb or used. So go RF.
If budget is tight, pick 1 RF lens to start. It can be refurbished. I'd choose the RF24-70 f2.8L, but you could also go with 2 non L lenses like the RF 28-70 f2.8 (a non L) and something else of your choosing. You have some options and if you go refurb or used you won't break the bank and can enter the mirrorless realm with RF glass and hit hit the ground running without an adapter. It's time to retire that 10 year old gear. 🙂

In your situation with older EF and EF-S lenses, then you either go to an EOS R10 camera or if you want full-frame with the EOS R6 Mark II it is sensible to replace the EF-S lenses.
Like Rick, I think you should actually swap out the whole kit for new. Assuming you go for the EOS R6 Mark II here's some possible lens choices at various price points that give a similar range as your current camera & lenses.

The R6 MkII is an outstanding choice. You will find that it's sensor has excellent the dynamic range, outstanding auto-focus abilities and battery life.
As others have mentioned your current EF-S lenses wouldn't really be appropriate, they will push the R6 into crop (1.6) and you will end up with about 9.5 MP. Trading you lenses may be th best option as you move to mirror-less.

If I was purchasing one lens based on what you described, I would go with the first lenses Brian mentioned, the RF 24-240mm. Owning this setup I can tell you that it is an extremely flexible combination, easily an all day carry and for a lens outside of the L series has some pretty impressive IQ.
