I would love to get a tripod and light for my husband for Christmas.

Greetings,

Is your husband using his camera in an indoor studio?  Can you tell us what he's taking pictures of please?

Hi,

There are many tripods on the market.  I think that the R100 is not too heavy, however it does also depend on the lens mounted on it.  The smaller lenses will be lighter than a heavier zoom.  I  would first check how mcc the camera weighs with a battery and the lens included.  From the I would start looking at tripod manufacturer specifications regrading how much weight the tripod can handle.  From there it's a matter of selecting a tripod that is suitable for the R100 with lens.  There are dozens of manufacturers to choose from.
