MAXIFY GX2020 print features available on Mac

I need a new printer.  This looks OK.  BUT the technical specs are missing or possibly deceptive for MAC users. I have found more than 1 printer that does what I want if I have windows, but these features are not available to a Macintosh.  

1. Automatic duplex printing? 

2. Automatic duplex ADF scanning to computer? Does it have OCR or not?  (yes for PC, no mention for MAC)

3. Scanning over WiFi?  One user said he had to attach a USB cable to get it to scan to his computer. 

4. printing from Android? The whole section is missing from the online manual.  

I also have to say the knowledgebase is lacking but searchable, the chat bot is useless, and I had to create an account to even access this forum.  It does not promote confidence in the product, although our office Canon is just about perfect.

Hi ellyenne! Thanks for contributing to the community. I see that you are looking for a printer that has the options you prefer. You also would like to make sure that you can utilize those features from your Mac computer.

Unfortunately, the MAXIFY GX2020 will not meet your preferences. However, we do have two printers that would work the way you would like on a Mac computer and Android. Both the MAXIFY GX7120 and the MAXIFY MB5420 have the following capabilities.

• Automatic Duplex Printing from a Mac computer
• Auto Duplex Scanning
• An OCR feature for extracting text
• Scanning over a Wireless network
• Android printing

There are a few notes though.

1. The Automatic Duplex Printing will only be available on apps that have that option. If you are printing from an app that does not give you the ability to enable duplex printing, it will not work.
2. You will need to add the printer using Air Print and not the Internet Protocol for he Automatic Duplex Printing option to work. 
3. Depending on your wireless router, you may have to disable the printer's IPv6 setting if you want to scan over a wireless network. There is a way to make that change on your printer if you find there are issues with wireless scanning.
4. We recommend installing either the Canon PRINT app or the Canon Print Service plug-in on your Android device before you can use it with the printer
