EOS Rebel T3i viable as a backup for an amateur?

Hi y’all. I primarily use a Canon R50. I want a separate camera as a backup and a friend offered me a really great condition T3i with a couple lenses. Are they still a viable camera for an amateur? Looks like they’ve been around a while now. Also giving me a couple EF-S lenses and a battery grip, and an Arsenal 1 camera assistant.
Thanks, Chris

Hey @kg4kpg, welcome to the community.

The easy answer is to go out and grab some frames with the body and each of the lenses. If the result is favorable then it is absolutely a viable backup system.
