I'm planning a gift for my 10th birthday and I had planned the Canon EOS R10 with kit lens 18-45mm f/4.5-6.3 IS STM. I also planned to get the RF-S 55-210mm f/5-7.1 IS STM for the same birthday as a long-reach lens. I already know how to use the Canon EOS 600D (2011 DSLR) and because of it's slow autofocus, lack of touchscreen and a 18MP sensor, I wanted to get a Canon EOS R10 due to it's flip-out fully articulating touchscreen, lightweight and 24.2MP sensor with DIGIC X. Should I really get the R10?

How much are you able to spend?
Moving to a new mirrorless R-series camera is the way to go. I'm sure you'll find it a very nice upgrade.

Hi,
Yes, I think tthat the R10 is a very good choice for you. It sits above the R50 and R100, with some important features, like having three dials, which can be used in various ways. The other two models I mention do not have three dials. Regarding the lens, I think if you can manage it, the RF-S 18-150 lens gives you better options. You may enen find that the RF-S 18-150 covers all you needs and have less equipment to carry. Best of luck and have fun!

First off, Happy Birthday @ArtemPhotograph
I would have to agree with @MPBACK, it will be a good step up into the mirror-less system and gives you functionality at a good price point and options absent from the other two camera mentioned. Many people that own them are very pleased with the R10

Happy Birthday Artem and welcome to the forum.
The R10 is a great camera and I’m sure you’d be happy with it. If you don’t need the 18-24mm focal length, then perhaps consider buying the camera body only and getting the RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM. Of course if your budget allows it as that set up would cost a few hundred dollars more. The 24-240 is a wonderful lens. March411 recently posted an excellent review about it. Here’s a link to it:
