I haven't used my. t7 since 11/24 when I purchased a r8. but 5/5/25 I pulled the t7 out to use it for the crop sensor to extend my focal length for lacrosse. the camera would not recognize any of my cards. my r8 recognized them all.
I had on 32gb that still had t7 photo on it no other photos from any other camera and it would not read the card.
I uploaded all the photo to Lightroom. formatted the card with my r8 no problem. put it back in the t7 same would not read it. pulled card. my Mac read the card fine formatted with all five options tried it each time in the t7 not change.
5/7/25 purchased a 64gb pny v30 from staples smallest the had t 7 would not read it. r8 read it fine.
reset all settings on the t7 still no luck. google you tube tried ever thing mentioned in post videos still no luck.
if any one has had this issues and can help me solve it I am thanking you in advance

To clarify- you formatted in computer but camera won’t recognize card so you can format in camera?

Also is the OP using a Full Sized SD Card or a Micro SD Card in an adapter. Another thing is that lineup of cameras doesn’t work well with SD Cards larger than 32GB. Even the manual says it’s “compatible” it just doesn’t work well if at all.

You should not swap cards between camera bodies. Format the card in the camera where it will be used.

I didn't format the card in the computer first.
I installed. the card that I had always used with the t7 (sandisk 32gb) I have 2 they both where used in the t7 from day on 2022 when I got the camera never used them in any other camera. till 5/6/25 I tried to use my t7 would not recognize the card told me to format I dint want to due to photo on the card so I switched to the other card same issue. when I returned home Mac read the card fine so I dumped all the photos in light room. I put the card back in the t7 card would not recognize tried to format in the t7 no luck. then I put the card in my r8 card worked fine red card took shots card wrote fine. I them formatted the card in the r8. no problems t7 game the same issue " card cannot be accessed reinsert / change card or format card tried low level format regular format it starts then fails.
then I formatted with my Mac. still same error tried multiple cards a brand new card same. cleared camera setting no luck.

I understand that I did this to see if the other camera would format the card which it did no problem. I don't think the cards are the issue I think it's my body it worked. fine when I put it away.

Check the camera card slot for foreign debris inside it.
Try a new, full sized, UHS-I, SDHC SD card, 32 GB or smaller. Apple computers may not use the same native file system as the camera. A Windows computer does. But format the card in the new card in the camera just the same.

Yeah I tried the clearing out the card slot for debris I have bought another new card 32gb same problem. The camera will not format card tried full format and low level. Error can not format change card. All card formats in every other device just not the t7.
These tips are the same tips i received. Via google search. I believe I have camera issue not a card issue.

Keith,
Your post peaked my curiousity.
I have a Rebel T7 that is slightly more than 3 year old. I got a 90D approx. 6 months ago and since then I've basically "mothballed" the T7 in its orginal packaging but first restored it to its original default settings and took the battery and memory card out of the camera.
Curiousity got the best of me and I took the T7 out, charged a the battery and inserted a full sized 32 gB SD-XC card in the camera. I was able to low level format the card and took a bunch of sample shots and everything worked fine. (Phew!)
The only other think I woud suggest you try if you have not done so already is a full reset to factory settings, then try to format a card again. Some advice Demetrius gave a couple of years ago on resetting the camera to factory defaults is as follows:
The camera can only be factory reset in the creative ie (M, Av, Tv & P) modes. Full Auto and other Basic Zone settings do not show the whole menu system.
He also suggested trying a reset after taking removing the lens & memory card. Additionally, I would suggest not only clearing All Settings but also Clearing All Custom Functions too.
If after the reset(s) you still cannot format a full sized SD card in the camera, then you most likely will have to send it in for service.
Good luck!
