showing the camera’s screen on an external monitor

Hello,

I have a Canon 600D camera, and when filming, I need to connect the camera to an external monitor so that the attendees can see the shot before filming. I mean, showing the camera’s screen on an external monitor.
Does it have specific settings for that?

No setting, just plug in an HDMI cable, and use live view mode.

Coudl the HDMI cable be bad?  Try a different cable.

[EDIT] if the external monitor is black, what does the camera rear LCD look like?  Simply connecting an HDMI cable should disable the rear screen, and reroute that video signal to the HDMI port.
