canon t5i - Shooting in automatic but set manual input for audio.

Hello, 

I've been able to get good audio by adjusting the db levels on my rode mic and then bringing down the levels in manual mode.

However, if I want to shoot video in automatic mode, I lose the ability to bring down the levels.

Is there a way to unmarry these features, so that audio can be set manually but vieeo can be shot in automatic or scene intelligent?

As far as I'm concerned AUTO mode is what you set the camera to when handing it to someone who has no idea how to operate it. Try using PROGRAM mode.
