Correct. ShutterCount by Dire Studios is a reliable program. macOS only. Most consider the value of having the info is minimal.

Only a few older cameras from Canon show shutter count in Exif. For example 1Ds II. For 1300D, use a dedicated software like jrhoffman75 already mentioned.

If you leave the settings for file numbering at their default: i.e. continuous numbering and not resetting with a new card, and do not manually reset the numbering, or low-level format your card, then the number in the file name in the form ###-#### should be the shutter count. That usually starts at 100-0001 and will go to 100-9999 then start at 101-0001 again (i.e. a counter reset every 10k).
