Specifically, a TTL shoe mounted flash/speedlight.
Thanks.

A non ETTL flash will only work if you have a camera with the center pin in the hot shoe. It has been reported that some of the latest versions of the T7 cameras do have a center pin.
Does your camera have the center pin?

So my T7 should support a TTL flash?

Because you have a center pin, it will support a non ETTL, Manual flash.
It will not support older TTL or A-TTL flash technologies like found in older Canon Film Era flash units. (300EZ, 300TL, 420EZ, 430EZ, or 540EZ) This type of TTL technology reads flash exposure off the film plane, so it will not expose automatically with any DSLR. They can be used on your camera, but only in Manual flash.
It will also not support Nikon TTL flash, or any other camera makers versions of TTL.
