What is MeasuredEV?

What exactly is MeasuredEV (an EXIF value)? How does it correspond to the standard definition of EV?

I have photos where the EXIF data gives MeasuredEVs of like 84 or 95.  The standard EV tops out at 16.

Measured  EV is the exposure value that the camera measured at the time of shooting. It is the value that the camera "thinks" it would give you a "correct" exposure. For example, at the time of shooting, the camera says F8, 1/125s and ISO 100 is the correct exposure (this is the measured EV), but you decide to increase the exposure to 1 stop. So you change the value to F8 1/125 ISO200 (this is the captured EV). I'm not sure about the value, maybe someone else can help you with that.
