David Busch's Canon EOS Rebel XSi/450D and a DVD called Canon Rebel XSi Interactive DVD Tutorial published by QuickPro Camera guides. I originally got one on Ebay and the other on Amazon. I hope this helps. They are both very good for all the info. you will need to run the camera at its' best.
You mean just like general photography? Or the actual controls on the camera? If you mean what everything does on your rig, I'd probably go with the Magic Lantern series. The do a volume for each type of camera body, detailing everything about it. I got mine for my old K2 film body when I couldnt find one with the insructions - and that was all I needed.
I had the XSI before my current 7D. I looked on youtube and found lots of videos from someone called Micheal The Maven, and there was link back to his site for learning too. I find lots of great photography videos on youtube! Hope this helps!
