I recently upgraded from a t6i to a t7i. Both use .CR2. Maybe I'm an idiot, but I cannot figure out what to download to get the codec to run. Windows 10.

I am not sure if a CODEC is available for Windows Explorer, yet. Use DPP to browse folders and files.

Yep. Codec isn't available yet. Will work natively in explorer once you get build 1903, but like Wadizzle said, use DPP = be happy.

It's not "garbage" but you are right it isn't ready for prime time yet. It is better. But it is free and for free it is pretty darn good. It has one thing no other software has, It understands Canon's Raw files exactly as Canon created them.
