Trouble pairing EOS M6 Mark II with BR-E1 Remote

I recently purchased M6 Mark II from eBay store in Japan.  The Camera was/is "Like New" and operates flawlessly. 

However...  I have been trying to pair my BR-E1 Remote and have had trouble.  I thought it may be a Firmware issue so I looked for an update.  I found and downloaded Ver 1.1.1.  The camera does not recognize the update from my SD Card.  The camera currently has version 1.0.1 the support info says...

Firmware Version 1.1.1 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.1.0. 

I am wondering if the Firmware I have is too old and I need to Install 1.1.0 1st to get the 1.1.1 to work?  If so... how can I get the previous version, as it does not seem to be available for download?

1.1.1 is the latest and the only one you should install.

I have downloaded and put it on my SD Card.  But the camera will not recognize the "M6200111.FIM" file?

What instructions are you following?  Do the camera menus display in the right language for you?

The instructions are in English.  See images attached.

 You will see the cameras says "Memory card containing firmware in requires to update".  The FIR file is on the Memory Card and in the camera, but it does not appear to recognize the file.

Why are you trying to update the firmware?  

What instructions are you following to complete the Bluetooth pairing?

You bought a used camera.  Have you gone through all the settings back to their factory defaults.  You want to begin using a used camera with all the settings in a known state.
