Is there a firmware I can use to allow my t6i rebel to have a 5 shot bracketing feature instead of standard 3 shot?

or

do I have to get a newer camera?

Welcome to the forum.

The answer is no to both questions. Just use manual bracketing.

Nothing stopping you from doing as many bracket shots as you want.
