I pushed a few buttons trying to figure something out and now my camera won't take pictures when I am zoomed in.
Here is what I have tried so far, to no avail:
1 - reset settings
2 - cleaning lens and connections
3 - taking out and replacing the battery
4 - making sure the toggle for AF mode is all the way over
Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks.

Have you tried with a different lens? Or taken the lens from auto to manual focus? It may be a lens issue and not a camera issue.

I don't have another lens to test with.
It does work with manual focus.
Does that mean it is a lens problem?

In Auto focus, does the focusing motor go in & out like it's looking for a focust point? Try going into the focus point select and try focusing on the seven (nine?) seperate focusing boxes. Trying to eliminate the camera body as the problem. Another thought. You say the camera will not fire when you are zoomed in. Which lens are you using? Are you perhaps inside the lens' minimum focus range? If your camera decides the image is not focused (in AF mode) , it will not fire.

For some reason after testing all the focus points and having none of them work, i set it back to Automatic selection and now it is working... I must have pushed some button right. Thanks for your help!
