T3i to RCA Field Monitor? Help!

So first off, I just created an account on this forum, so I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place or if I am doing something wrong. With that said, I am in need of assistance!

So I am currently in possession of a Canon T3I, and I am about to go into a shoot next week on a short film for my film class. Now, this will be the first time I use a DSLR for one of my short films, so all of my equipment is a little outdated for it. A prime example, and the main problem I have, is my field monitor.

The field monitor I have been using is very outdated, using an RCA output setup. The T3I as you all should know, does not use RCA. The T3I uses an AV Digital Output, and a mini HDMI output. I do not have the money to go out and buy an HDMI field monitor for the camera, so I have to find a way to connect this thing to my current one. Can anyone help me with this??? Is there some sort of cheap converter for this? I realize that the HDMI to RCA set up is unpractical, and the AV output is mainly used to connect the camera to my computer via USB. So what Im thinking of doing is using the AV to USB cord and buying an adaptor to connect the USB end to the RCA cables to connect to the monitor.

So the setup for that would be Camera<AV to USB<Female USB to Female USB<USB to RCA<Female RCA to Female RCA<RCA to Monitor

Now, that seems a bit much too me, but so far it seems like the only way I can do it. Does anyone know if this will work? Or if there is an easier way to do this (without buying a new monitor)?

I think the RCA convertor would be a PITA!....If you can, try and find a dealer that sells Lilliput monitors, since even their smallest one has an HDMI input!

Good Luck!

Hello Cfighter,

At this time we do not make a connection that adapts RCA to HDMI.  We regret this inconvenience.  You may do as another posted suggested and find an inexpensive monitor to use, or perhaps you can find an adapter online through a specialist retailer.  We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause you at this time.
