Hi
The sound on my Canon eos 500d is not working.
It makes a weird noise during playback.
I have checked that the volume is not the problem during playback.

Can you describe "weird noise" for us? I assume this is noise in audio track of recorded video. Right?
- Is it continuous or intermittent?
- Is it coherent [tonal in nature] or incoherent [static like noise]?
- If you download the video file(s) to another device for playback, do you still hear it?
- Is this something new, or is it the first you have tried to record video?
Tell us everything that you can about what you do to reproduce the issue, so that someone else can follow the same steps and better understand your issue. Help someone to help you.

I'll assume that you're hearing scratching, static-like noises in video playback. It could be as simple as your microphone being dirty. Try using compressed air to clean it out. Otherwise, you may need to have a professional look at it.
