I used the T7 at a concert last night I was in the front row. But not pressed right up against the stage. While the video was stunning visually the sound was AWFUL! It was full of static. Yet there was none. What could have caused this? Was is picking up some sort of interference? Will it do this everytime I record a concert or live music? Wasn’t using a microphone and will not be in the future. Any suggestions? None of my other canon cameras ever did this.

Front row? Static? It could have been the sound pressure was too high. Does it happen when you try to record in a less extreme environment? If so, then you may have an issue with the camera. It’s possible the camera may have been damaged by high sound pressure levels, too.
I would not put too much weight on results with post cameras, whatever those models might have been. If you did not use one then and there on that same night and conditions, then you would be comparing apples to oranges.

It was a brand new camera just out of the box and first time use. Never had this problem with any of my other canon cameras

Make sure you don't cover the 3 holes near the word EOS on the front of your camera. Easy to cover those holes with a finger while shooting. The internal microphone is fairly good. You can set microphone levels using your the menus.

Depending on what kind of concert it may have been too load and put the recording level into overload. See page 178 of your camera manual.
Set your television to a proper listening level and record what is playing. How does that playback?

I will try that but if can’t record concerts then it’s useless to me.

If you follow the steps in the manual you can adjust sensitivity based on sound level, The TV test is just to verify that recording can work properly.
