Setting streaming size for EOS R50 V

Hi there,

The help docs for the EOS R50 V suggest that you can set the streaming size when using USB (UVC/UAC) Streaming. However whenever I start the connection and plug in the USB-C cable to my Macbook Pro M series, I get a warning that streaming is limited to 1920x1080. Power over USB is off. Not sure if you need a special USB-C cable or is there is another interfering setting (or incorrect documentation). Any help would be appreciated!

It could very likely be the cable. To provide power to the camera you need a USB-C to USB-C cable that allows at least 60W power, and it also has to support high speed data transfers, at least 10Gb. Unfortunately there are many USB-C to USB-C cables in the market, some do not support enough power, some do not support data or fast enough data. You would be best to seek out a USB-C to USB-C cable the supports Thunderbolt3 or 20GB data and 100W power.

You should plug the cable directly in to the MacBook and ideally power the MacBook from the AC adapter, or the power will be drained from the MacBook battery.

To confirm Brian's solution, a Thunderbolt rated cable with 40Gbps and 240W did the trick and I am now able to change the streaming settings.
