SD Card

I would like to know what size SD card to use in my Canon EOS Rebel T3i.  I got it for Christmas.

I am looking at a 64GB SDXC card. I could n't find anything in the book.

By size I think you want to know the capacity.

8 GB or 16 GB is plenty for most people. Get larger cards if you plan more extended shooting or videos.

I typically carry (4) 16 GB cards, occasionally filling two. Prevents the dreaded "No Card in Camera" message when away from home.

Thank you for the help.  I am starting on a new adventure.  I am use to using a canon AE program nothing like the EOS.  Hope it will be a lot of and interesting adventure.

It a bad idea to use one very large SD card i.e. 64 GB.  Several smaller SD (8  to 16 GB) cards are way more safer.

If a card goes bad, you don't lose everything.

The only use for those larger cards is video. But even than, they are not actually needed.
