I bought my cannon Rebel XTI IN 2008. It has worked perfectly since then .  The other day it fall off my table and since then it acted like it just didn't want to take pictures, but i manage to reset the settings. It did help. Still having issues with it. it seems like its acting normal. everything is working but when i take a picture, the lens still shakes has a push halfway down on the button. but it was doing that a few weeks ago, but the pictures can out ok enough. My issue now is that I take a picture and the preview of it is black with the shotting info on it like it always has done. I tried all the settings and has I already said I reset all the settings. took the lens off and I didn't see anything wrong with the mirror inside. In the picture i took the screen is black with no lines on the screen. It's the way it looked after i took the picture with my phone. 20241023_190135.jpg

Unfortunately the fall caused damage to the camera. The camera can no longer be repaired by Canon any longer. Nor would be it be cost effective to repair it either. Do you have a budget to spend on a new camera. Development of DSLRs has been discontinued and has moved on to mirrorless cameras. The same has happened to the EF & EF-S Mount they also have been discontinued. Everything has moved to the RF Mount and the new EOS R series. Older EF & EF-S lenses can be adapted to the EOS R series.

I have to agree with my colleague Demetrius, dropping the camera dealt it serious damage and at that age, it is unrepairable.  I have the same camera myself and it has issues, but I don't expect to get it repaired.
