Hi,
I purchased my R7 a few months ago and have only taken still photos with the camera. Today I tried to play with the video recording feature and recorded a short video as a test. When I played back the video on the camera, there was no audio. I noticed that the audio playback volume level on the camera screen showed the "headphone" symbol even though no headphone was plugged in. I couldn't figure out how to switch the audio playback from "headphone" to the camera's built in speaker. I then plugged a headphone into the headphone jack of the camera and was able to hear the audio during playback. When I unplugged the headphone and played the video on the camera, the screen still showed the "headphone" symbol next to the volume level indicator. Is there a setting to change the audio playback to the camera speaker? Or do I need to send the camera for repair? Thanks in advance for any advise.

This sounds like the headphone socket on the camera is damaged and not disconnecting the headphone circuits when the plug is pulled out. Camera service is the way forward.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion.

Greetings,
I agree with Brian. Your headphone jack should not sense the presence of a mini plug when nothing is connected. It would appear that it's damaged.
