I just paired my EF 24-105 F4.0 L (Original) to my new R6 Mark II using the RF-EF adaptor. When I turn on the camera and touch the trigger button, the lens IS is constantly working away and won't stop making faint noises even after taking a picture. I turned off Lens IS and the sound goes away -- hopefully saving battery life.
Is this a problem with my Lens or is this how the lens IS and camera IS interact?

"Have you ever looked at the EXIF data to see if the IS is being reported as enabled or disabled when you shoot from a tripod?"
No, I don't because I don't care. I simply leave it on all the time.

This is not the solution. I turned my Preview AF off, the day I bought and setup my R6 Mk II. There is an incompatibility issue between the R6 Mk II and the EF 24-105mm F4 L IS lens. I looked up firmware updates (for the lens) and there is actually a firmware update relating to image stabilisation compatibility on newer cameras, but there is one major problem. The firmware version of the lens does not appear on the camera at all, so it cannot be checked or updated!!
I did find one strange fix:
If I turn the camera on, the lens IS starts going crazy. The image in the EVF is moving all over the place, it is not actually stabilising the image at all. If I press the playback button (to view an image) and then press it again (or half-press the shutter button) to return to shooting, the image stabilisation is working perfectly. It will continue to work perfectly (regardless of how many shots I take) as long as I don't press the playback button to see my images again. If I do that, as soon as I press the playback button again (or half-press the shutter button) to return to shooting, the lens IS goes crazy again. To fix it again, press the playback button and then a second time (or half-press the shutter button) and all is good again.
In summary, the lens IS always goes crazy after turning the camera on. I can toggle that crazy state off or on by going into playback mode and then returning to shooting mode (for each toggle). So I generally don't preview my images, I know they came out right anyway, and if for some reason I want to preview an image, I preview it, return to shooting mode, immediately go back to playback mode and then back to shooting mode. Gasp!! I hope that made sense. Lol

If you still have that lens, take a look at my responses to others in here. I managed to find a workaround for my lens.
