R5 Mark II - AF problems and Factory Repair

I’m experiencing the autofocus issue that many seem to also be experiencing. In researching the problem, I’ve seen 2 or 3 responses from Canon, saying to send the camera to them for repair. To those of you that have done this, did Canon find and fix a problem? Please share your experience. Many think it is a firmware issue. I’ve been on 1.0.3 since day one, so I can’t compare.

I just checked Canon USA and Hong Kong.  V1.1.0 was not present.  I didn't check Canada but I'm sure it's coming.  🙂

Rick, do you think it will be 1.1.1? LOL! If not, it should be as it looks like some 1.1.0's escaped into the wild 😁 Also, the 1.1.0 manual is on the U.S.A. Support site.

From what I've read the AF problems with 1.0.3 are far worse than anything shown in that video. The AF not focusing on the proper subject in that scenario is kind of to be expected, the AF problems in 1.0.3 seem to be far worse; like it saying the subject is in focus when it is not, it refusing to focus at all until its rebooted, etc.

Those are the type of problems I would worry about, not the AF focusing on a blade of grass instead of an animal at 800mm.
