R100 shutter release without a lens

I purchased a manual telephoto lens to use with a new R100 and I read that I need to go to the functions menu and choose to release the shutter without lens, however I do not see this option on my camera. How do I find this function or release the shutter so I can use the lens.

Options are limited in the automatic modes. Try switching to P mode.

See the section in the online manual on enabling release shutter w/o lens: C Fn 4. Enabling this should do the trick.
