I just purchased a new laptop with windows 8. I loaded EOS digital solutions disk and the new laptop will not recognize my rebel t3. Any suggestions.
Thanks.

Older Rebels didn't use the new (at the time) Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) by default, but most recent software expects it. Maybe that's your problem. If so, there should be a menu item on the camera to select PTP as an override.
Also, make sure you have the latest versions of the Canon software. The solutions disk that came with your camera is sure to be too old. I believe 29A is the first one that supports any form of Windows 8.

If you go to My Computer" or "This PC" folder, do you see the T3 at all? Win 8 should see it without any additional drivers or software. It will look like another drive or memory card, etc.
