This may be an internal problem in the camera, but more often it can be the battery that isn't charging properly. If you have a second battery or know of a nearby Canon retailer that has a floor model with the same battery that you can try that would be a good first step. If a new battery works then your old one needs to be replaced, but if it doesn't you would want to have one of the service centers take a look.
