Hello,
I recently purchased the Canon R8 for streaming, and after trying everything... Windows 11 is unable to detect the camera. I set it to streaming in the wrench menu, disabled wifi, disabled power shutoff settings, and installed the latest drivers and software. I am using a Canon IFC-400U USB-C cable. It has been weeks. I am at my wit's end (on the verge of tears) and starting to regret this purchase. PLEASE HELP... anyone? 😔
Thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you've done all the normal things required.
With the cable connected to the computer and no streaming software running, switch the camera on and does the camera LCD show the STBY text on the top left corner. If so then it's ready to stream, and you will need to select the Canon Digital Camera as the device to use in your streaming software or video conferencing software. When the streaming software is using the camera, the STBY icon changes to LIVE on the camera screen.
There are no drivers needed from Canon, since the camera uses the industry standard UVC/UAC protocol just like any other webcam when set to video calls / streaming in the menu.

Hello, @p4pictures thank you SO much for responding. I really appreciate you taking the time to help! 🙂
After paying $70 for the Canon IFC-400U USB-C cable, I could never get my computer to recognize the camera using that Canon USB-C cable. I ended up using the micro HDMI out. Maybe someone will someday be able to give me some guidance regarding the USC-C issue.

I'm using a relatively high spec USB-C to USB-C cable, not the one Canon supplies. Mine is a USB4 cable and supports 20Gbps + 240W power. I'm connecting direct in to my MacBook Pro.

I have to restart myiMac every single time. It has never recognized my camera just plugging it in. It is very frustrating.
