My EOS R50 V camera won't stay on.

I recently bought the r50v . This morning it started acting up. It would take longer to boot up. But now it won't stay on at all. Original battery, fully charged. I removed the battery and SD card, pressed on the shutter button for 30 seconds to hard reset it. Still no luck! Is there Anyone with the same problem or know a solution?

Greetings,

Let's take a deep breath.  Pause 🤔

Are you using a full size SD card or a micro SD with adapter?  What is the brand / model and size?  Where are you buying these cards?

Secondly.  You always want to format a memory card in camera.  Not elsewhere and do not use a memory card in more than one camera at the same time without formatting in camera in each body before use..  There are only 1-2 reasons why you would want to format a card on a PC, but you would immediately format in camera after doing so before use.

Where did you send the camera for repair?  To Canon?  What did they say / result?  Getting another battery to test with is a good idea.  Let us know the results of this as well.  Buy an OEM Canon brand battery from an authorized dealer.

Also, you are hijacking another users thread.  In the future please consider starting your own post.  Primary reason is you're not able to mark a thread as solved unless it's your own.  😉

I'll await your response.

If you remove the memory card, the lens, and any accessories, does the camera still work?

Thanks for staying in touch with us here and keeping us in the loop.  I recently bought a refurbished R50V and am following your progress.  I definitely am not having the same issues.

Well I bought a new Canon Battery from Amazon rushed delivery. Guess what? Same issue. Took couple of pictures and dead. Gonna have to send it back for repair again.

Sorry to hear that.    Did you ever share about your SD card that my colleague asked about earlier?  I know some folks have had issues along those lines, and not just in the R50V, particularly with adapted micro-SD cards.
