Is there a mounting bracket that will allow me to use an RF 600 lens on a 40D or 80D?

Greetings,

Sorry, no.  RF and RF-S lenses can only be used on R series body's.

An EF to RF adapter allows you to use EF and EF-S lenses on a R series body.

Thank you.  We do mostly wildlife, scenery, and travel photos.  We have used the Canon white lens 28-300.  My wife bought the Canon RF600mm not knowing it would not adapt to our Canon EOS bodies.  I guess it's time to shop for an R series camera, and perhaps a mounting adapter for our  family of lenses.

Greetings Ken,

While it might seem like an out of order purchase decision, the RF600 & 800 are both on sale right now.  I purchased the RF100~400 myself.

The 600mm is great for wildlife on a FF or APS-C.  Its got good "reach"  as long as there is good light.  If you are invested in EF-S glass, then the R7 might be the camera for you.  If you have EF glass, I'd go R6mkII with a plan to transition to RF glass.  If budget allows an R5 coupled with the RF600 is a force to be reckoned with.
