Missing Menu Items on EOS Rebel XTi

Until today my Canon EOS Rebel XTi was working fine.  Today about half the menu items are missing.  I removed the battery and reinstalled it but nothing seems to work.  Very strange behavior.  I looked to download the software from the canon site to do a re-install, but none seem to be available.

Any suggestions?

What menu items are missing? depending on the mode you select some menu items are hidden.  switch t “P” mode and see what happens.

Duh, now I feel like a dummy.  That's what happens when you start using a camera that's been stored for about a year.
