Hi and welcome to the forum:

My first suggestion is to turn off the camera, remove the battery and cards, then reinsert the batteries ONLY after they are fully charged, and then turn it on.  See if you can then move off the menu item.  If that works re-insert the cards and as a final precaution, format the cards.

If that does not work, and if you use the items in the green menu:  Find and select, ITEMS TO REGISTER. from the list find and select CLEAR ALL CAMERA SETTINGS.  Once that is done, then select it to reset the camera.

Depress the button in the center of the knob to unlock it for turning.  You must keep it depressed while you turn the knob.

Thank you,

I will try that as soon as I get biome tonight. I will let you know if it works.

thanks again,

James

I'm not sure you are referring to the same thing as the OP.  They are referring to the green star (in the menu system), not the green box (on the mode dial) to which you seem to refer.

Trevor,

you are correct. I’m referring to the menu button at the left top of the most left of the two buttons on the rear of the camera.

can’t wait to get home to see if your recommendation will clear things up.

Thanks,

James

I think you’re right.  The question is pretty vague.

Given we are looking at what appears to be a frozen menu.  I have made some suggestions, what do you think Bill?

Glad to help! 🙂  Which of the two options achieved your solution?

Happy shooting.
