MacBook Pro OS 10.15 won't recognize Rebel T3

I just got a new 2020 Macbook, OS 10.15.5, and it doesn't recognize my Rebel T3. It's plugged in using the canon usb cable to a thunderbolt/usb-c adapter. I've looked through the system utilities and I don't see the camera anywhere. Any help?

Try running Image Capture first, and then plugging in the camera.
