Can you please post some pictures in the forum. Do you have another camera with the native Mount to test the lens on. A native camera wouldn't need an adapter to work. A Rebel series camera like the T7/ (EOS 700D), T8i/ EOS 800D, SL3 (EOS 250D) or an XXD series camera like the 90D would work. So would the 7D series lineup up cameras.

Current Gear: EOS 5D Mark IV, EF 16-35mm F/2.8L USM, EF 24-70mm F/2.8L USM, EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS III USM, EF 50mm F/1.8 STM, EF 85mm F/1.8 USM, 470EX-AI & 600EX II-RT

Retired Gear: EOS 40D

I was able to put the lens onto another m50. Not able to reproduce the blown out pics.
-this proved lens & adapter are ok. No light leak detected

I reset camera to factory settings. There is still some blown out but it helped some.

You have a camera problem not a lens or adapter problem. The light leak may be at the lens mount itself on the camera body.
