I have a Canon 7D. I have recently come across an anomaly with shooting in live view vs the viewfinder. I shoot in manual. With identical exposure triangle settings, the live view images are about 2/3 stops brighter than the images from the viewfinder. I have taken photos of the same scene that has consistent lighting, and the exposures are different. This has happened with my Canon 50mm 1.8 and my Canon 70-200 2.8. Can someone explain why this is happening?

Are you using a tripod? If so, you need to cover the eyepiece with the little rubber cover that came with the camera to prevent stray light from entering the camera.
