Lens Converter

twardwell

I have only used Rebel ti1, ti6, and t7, and I have a great collection of lenses I have gathered over the years. I recently bought an EOS R50 - from my understanding is I need a lens converter. I am looking for recommendations on which one to get. I am sad my lenses wont fit my camera, and I want to get this ordered as soon as possible so I can start shooting!

Please help! I am a beginner so please keep the terminology simple as I am learning. Thank you!!

Indeed you need a converter to use DSLR lenses on the mirrorless cameras.

Canon provides several options, from the most basic EF EOS R mount adapter to the control ring version and the filter versions.

I would say that at this point get the adapter without the control ring in Brian's first link.

This is one of those items I would suggest that you use genuine Canon as the 3rd party devices have challenges.

Canon has two, I have both and would suggest going with the low cost version, Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. Currently they are out of stock on the Canon site but B&H has them in stock for $129.

The control ring adapter is $199 but I personally do not care for this one as the control ring sits close to the body and is difficult to reach easily.

Actually, Canon has *3*, but I can forgive you for not including the drop-in filter version.

Absolutely correct, always forget about that one.
