LCD/Viewfinder screenshot?

We often get people using their phones to send us images from their screens.

Should Canon's allow the ability to save a screenshot of the LCD or the viewfinder with all the supplementary info?

While it would help us in situations like this:

https://community.usa.canon.com/t5/EF-RF-Lenses/Sigma-35-mm-lens-showing-closer-than-35mm-on-EOS-R6/...

To see what is going on, I am not sure it would have general application.

If there is much interest, I will post a request in feedback.

Could be helpful to be able to share what's on the screen when seeking help on forums like this. But for general users it's not that helpful a feature.

I've captured LCD screens several times using HDMI capture devices, but there are some functions that don't work when the camera is outputting on the HDMI. Also there is sometimes a readjustment of the icons when in a shooting mode. For example if I look that the LCD screen of the camera when it is in stills mode, the current mode shows on the top left corner overlaying the image. This is because the screen is 3x2 ratio. If I plug in a HDMI capture unit the camera sends a 16x9 ratio output, and moves the mode and other icons at the vertical edges of the frame so they are on the edge / outside of the image area. I would like to see that stopped more than I'd like to capture screens on the camera. Below is an example.

i figgered the feature would help you the most. 8^)

But it seems to be easily doable (Assuming the screen signal is accessible to the digic file saving routines) and not hard to add to the FW. I wonder if magic lantern already does it.)

Interesting idea.
