Is this normal? White vertical lines in EOS 5D Mark IV images

Paul76

Started to notice issues on my photos, wondering if anyone knows what it could be or is it something more serious with the camera body?

Canon 5D IV with 70-200 2.8 IS III

Was processing a few photos i took yesterday, dehazed a few and notcied white vertical lines to one side of the image.

Took a sample photo of the current cloudy day, ISO is 6400 (which is when ive started to noticed it), there is a lot of noise, i know, done this to make it easier to highlight the issue.Capture.JPG

We are less interested in seeing images of the symptoms.  We are far more interested in seeing images that are “straight out of the camera.”  No lens filters.  No JPEGs, just RAW files.

@Paul76 please follow all of my colleagues advice and add a RAW photo so we can closely look at the picture. The forum only has so much space for pictures. It cannot handle RAW images only JPEGs ONLY. @Waddizzle I have the same exact lens and camera as the OP and I couldn't duplicate the problem. So there is a setting or a physical problem with their camera.

Yes, it's a screenshot of the photo, (to be able to upload it on here).

Use Canon software to transfer the RAW to a PC.

Using Dx0 and lightroom.

I'm away from home for a few days now, so won't be able to take RAW photos of a white wall until I return.

My original post was shooting at the grey fog, at the same settings as the photo of the boat, with no filter.

As you mentioned, you have the same gear and unable to duplicate the problem, I'm suspecting the sensor failing.

Looks filmic.  The Fuji people actually pay lots of money just to get this look.

For how long have you had this issue.  I suspect your work flow and image processing.

First time I've noticed it, been over photos taken previously, can't see the same.

What do you mean by " work flow"?

Are you using Photoshop or any other Photo editing software. How do you get your pictures off your camera to the computer. Are you using both card slots or just one. Is the camera set to record JPEG only, RAW only or both. What kind of computer are you using Windows, Mac or both.

Sandisk extreme CF card.

Use the cable direct into the camera to transfer using Canon software.

Lightroom

Photoshop

Dx0

Windows PC

What version of Windows are you running on your computer. Windows 7, 8.1, 10 or 11. Could you take a picture of something that is in the RAW format. Then use the Windows File Explorer to see if it’s still a problem. Also post that picture in the forum.
