I was really excited about getting a camera again, but after I ordered the T3, I saw the T5 for the same price. I think I had thought I was buying the newer one. That's what I get when I shop on Amazon.com in the middle of the night. Anyway, I know that with the DSLR, megapixel isn't everything. The biggest difference I noted was 18 MP instead of 12.2, which seems kind of low now that I've seen what else is out there. I am not interesting in using it for video recording, so my question is this: should I spend the money and effort returning it and buy the T5, or do you all think the comparrison isn't enough to worry about? I will be losing money on return shipping, as well as the shipping costs that will be deducted from my refund and will have to wait for my refund. I want to have a camera for the summer and don't want to wait that long.
I will say that I like that the T3 has better battery life, is lighter and has a faster response, from things I've read.
What do you think? Keep or return and upgrade?
Thanks for the help!
Edit: Does anyone have experience with both first hand that can let me know if the margin of difference is significant to stress out about? I haven't personally seen either one yet.

I think it sounds like you answered your own question. Keep it. Take beautiful pictures and don't look back. Spend the money used for a return on another lens or other accessories.
