I have a new 60D. The first and sometimes second picture never shows up?

New 60D.  The first and sometimes second picture I take each time it is turned on doesn't take.  It doesn't show up on the screen or on the card.  All the pictures taken after those 2 are fine.

Did you format the memory card in the camera prior to taking photos?

Has this happened again, especially with an empty memory card?
