I cannot get my Canon eos Rebel T6i to fire studio strobes

I just bought a Canon Eos Rebel T6i 

And im try to use  the studio strobe light on it 

I try a Sync Terminal Adapter and a wireless one both did not work. I do not know if it something in my menu that I need to change. Everything works fine noting is broken. I'm a college student and we tested it out on other cameras and it works just fine but the T6i did not work at all. is there some setting I need to look at I'm having trouble finding info on what to do. please help me!!!

Are you using Live View? The hot shoe flash will not fire in Live View unless you have a Canon brand flash or a 3rd party ETTL flash or ETTL wireless trigger in the hot shoe.
