Even with the correct yellow (wrench) menu settings (record to multiple and disable separate card destinations for stills and video), video only gets recorded to both cards if the rotary switch that surrounds the red record button on the back of the camera is in the VIDEO position when the recording is made by pressing the red button. If the rotary switch that surrounds the red record button on the back of the camera is in the STILL PHOTOS position when the recording is made by pressing the red button, the video only gets recorded to card one, not to both cards. CARD TWO is my backup drive. I want a full backup of STILLS and VIDEO to CARD TWO. How do I do this?

I am uncertain if that is an available option in video mode. The camera is working hard as it can just to write video to one card in some video modes. ‘
With the camera in video mode, what are the available options to save to the memory cards?

Here is how I've set the options in the yellow (wrench) menus on the R1:
Stills/Video — separate Disable
Stills — Rec options Rec. to multiple
Video — Rec options Rec. to multiple
Stills — Play Card One
Video — Play Card One
With these settings, the camera does write stills (RAW) and the default (lowest quality) VIDEOS to BOTH CARDS — but only if I select the VIDEO icon position on the rotary switch (for stills or video selection), near the right upper part of the camera's back, before pressing the red record button.
To shoot stills I must first switch the rotary switch back to the stills icon.
VIDEO is NOT recorded to CARD TWO if I leave the rotary switch pointing towards the still photo icon before pressing the red Record button,

“ VIDEO is NOT recorded to CARD TWO if I leave the rotary switch pointing towards the still photo icon before pressing the red Record button, “
The camera is not exactly in video mode when you initiate video recording that way. The camera actually keeps rack of different exposure settings for Stills and Video modes. I do not have an R1 to confirm this, but the camera might be using he current still exposure settings to record a video clip.
/Regardless, it doesn’t;t matter. The camera can save video to two cards, but only at one of the lower video resolution modes. Like I said, the camera is pushing itself to record high resolution video to one card.

Waddizzle is correct. Record to multiple is not available for raw movies.
