I figured it out

the camera was set at self timer mode so it was not actually the antiflicker at all.  It was the flicker you get when self timer is working…

so it was an XY problem after all 🤗🐾🐾

Greetings ,

Have a look at the camera menu tab 2.

How do you know it is still On? This might be an XY problem.

It flickers and slows my shutter up enormously

…and i have read the Canon User Manual and followed those directions.  Antiflicker is off.  Should antiflicker actually be on?  I will try that…

Well turning it on did not work either (not surprised).
