Hello! Maybe someone can help me to set autofocus of my R5m2 to work ONLY WHEN AF-ON BUTTON IS HELD, like it worked on my previous 6Dm2 (including Live-View mode). The problem that R5m2 autofocus is working constantly, even when none buttons is pressed, in any mode One-Shot/SERVO. The only option to turn it off - AF-MF switcher on the lens, but I want my autofocus to be in standby, waiting for AF-ON button to be pressed.
I tried to find that in menus/manual/internet and found nothing ;(
Thanks in advance!

Check and see if Preview AF is set to disable. This will solve this problem. If its set to enable the lens will keep focusing regardless of you pressing the AF-ON or * Button. By default its enabled from the factory.

relictross,
Go into your AF Menu and see if your Continuous AF is Enabled. If it is, try disabling it.

In newer cameras such as the EOS R10 and EOS R5 Mark II that function has been renamed to "Preview AF" now.

Demetrius,
You're right. I was looking at the Manual for the R5.
