Flickering red light 90D

So after I put in my SD card back in my Canon eos 90D the red light (top right corner) started flickering. As usual I thought that it was just processing something. It still flickers unregulary every time I turn it on (also when I´m looking at pictures or taking pictures). Does anyone know whats going? I bought the 50mm EF f1.8 lens a couple of days ago if that could be a problem.

It's the camera waking up and accessing the card. Any time the card is accessed the light will flicker.

John is correct, as usual.  It sounds like the camera is simply waking up and interrogating the memory card that it found in the card slot.

Be sure to only use full size memory cards, never the micro-SD cards with the plastic adapters.  Those tend to fail rather quickly.

Be sure to always perform a low level format on every memory card that you use.  Use the camera to format the memory card.

The little red light is the busy light. The camera is doing something.

The softness with your long distant shots is likely the limit of the lens' ability to resolve.
